| Course Introduction |
The Kinabalu Golf Club or KGC is regarded as one of the oldest Clubs in Sabah. It was established several years before the 2nd World War by European employees of the British Chartered Company and the European business establishments in the then British North Borneo. The following is a brief chronological history of the Club: - On 16th March 1933, the Club was established under the name of Jesselton Golf Club with 50 members comprising mainly of European of British Origin.
The Clubhouse was housed on top of a hill at Batu Tiga (the present site of the secretariat / Land & Surveys Dept ); - During the 2nd World War the Japanese invasion put a total stop to the golf activities of the Club. It was only on 23rd September 1948 that the Club activities was revived again.
- In 1954, the Club ceased its activities at the original site and shifted to Tanjung Aru, near the Tanjung Aru Beach. A new 9-hole golf course was built together with an "atap" bungalow Clubhouse near the beachfront ;
- On 29th May 1962, the Clubhouse was razed by fire. The building, furniture and fixtures, Club records, trophies, etc were completely destroyed.
- In 1963, a new Clubhouse was built and the name of the Club was changed to The Kinabalu Golf Club.
The Kinabalu Golf Club or KGC is located at about half a kilometer along Jalan Aru, near the Tanjung Aru 1st Beach. The golf course is adjacent to the Waikiki Condominium and the Casuarina Hotel. The Club is just a 5-minutes walk from/to the Shangrila Tanjung Aru Resort Hotel and is only 10 minutes drive to/from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport as well as to/from the City of Kota Kinabalu. The newly constructed Kota Kinabalu Terminal 1 airport is just a kilometer away from the Club.

The Clubhouse restaurant is for Members
and their guests only and is located on the ground floor of the
Clubhouse. The open restaurant in the multi-purpose hall and deck can
accommodate 200 diners whereas the air-con restaurant can cater for 120
dinners. The restaurant serves halal Chinese, western and local food,
all diners must be properly dressed (no singlets, shorts and slippers
allowed.)

MACHINE ROOM
- Strictly for members only.
- 5 Slot machines (2 ultimate and 3 multiplier) available for members only.
- Players are provided with soft drinks, hot beverages and snacks for refreshments.
- Members
must produce their membership cards and register their names and
membership numbers at the security registration desk prior to entering
the Slot Machine room.
- Members must be properly dressed.
Opening hours:
12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight daily.

HOLE (KARAOKE) LOUNGE
- Members, children & guests must be properly dressed. No short pants, singlets and slippers allowed
- Members must sign in their guests in the registration book.
- All purchases are charged to the members? account (by signing the bills). Guests must pay by coupons.
- Children?s karaoke: Sunday ? 2 pm to 4 pm

Sunday to Thursday: 4:00 pm to 12:00 midnight
Friday, Saturday & Eve of Public holidays: 4:00 pm to 1:00 am

COURT
- Members must register their names and membership numbers in the Squash Court registration book before using the Squash Court.
- Members can bring 2 guests at any one time upon payment or RM10.00 per guests.
- Members must sign in their guests in the Squash Court registration book.
- Players must observe proper dress code.
Opening hours: 7:00 am to 9:00 pm daily

 SAUNA
& STEAMBATH
- For members only
- Guests and children under 12 years are not allowed.
- All
members are required to read the instructions carefully before using
the sauna/steambath. Members must register their names and membership
numbers in the sauna/steambath registration book before using the
facilities.
- Members must produce their membership cards upon request by the attendant, otherwise entry is not permitted.
- The
Club shall not be responsible for any accidents, injury or illness of
any person arising from the use of the sauna/steambath.

GYM
/ FITNESS CENTRE
- For members only.
- Members must register their names arid membership numbers in the Gym registration book before entering the Gym room.
- Members must produce their membership cards before entering the Gym room, otherwise entry is not permitted.
- Proper dress code to observe strictly. Sport shoes must be worn. Slippers, sandals, barefooted-not allowed.
- Guests and children under 12 years are not allowed.
- The Club shall not be responsible of any accidents, injury or illness of any person arising from the use of the Gym.

SWIMMING
POOL
|
Strategically
located at the centre of the Clubhouse, the swimming pool measuring 22
meters long mid 10 meters wide, has served the Club since 1963. Members
can bring 3 guests at any one time upon payment of RM10.00 per guests.
Indoor Children Swimming Pool consists of one main Children wading Pool, one Toddlers Pool and one Jacuzzi for Adults.
Opening hours: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily
WASHROOM/SHOWER/LOCKER FACILITIES
Washroom, Shower, Changing room and locker facilities are also
available for members. This is located at the ground floor, phase 2
building. Towels are provided for bathing and swimming.

COURT- 2 standard competition sized courts and 1 practice court available for members.
- Members can bring 3 guests at any one time upon payment of RM 20.00 per guest.
